Our Local History Librarian made me aware of some reference material in our collection that might be of some use to anyone that is searching more recent “roots” in Schaumburg, IL.
City Directories have been a valuable resource for genealogical researchers. They morphed in the late 1920s into what we have today as Phone Directories.
If anyone local to our area is personally researching Schaumburg “roots”, be aware that our library has Schaumburg telephone directories for the following years:
1928
1948
1949
1953
1956
1957
1958
1959
1991 to Present
Unfortunately, you can see that what material we have only goes back as far as 1928 with significant gaps of material from that point on until 1991.
Perhaps our earliest telephone directories can help someone researching more current “roots” in Schaumburg, IL.
