GenealogyBank Added To Our Library’s Genealogy Data Bases; It Is Available To Schaumburg Library Cardholders from Home

Hi Everyone!

The Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL) has added the GenealogyBank database to our list of existing genealogy databases.  The database is offered through NewsBank.

Quickly find your ancestors in over 300 years of historical newspapers, books, pamphlets and government reports. Search over 1,000 newspapers; the American State Papers; US Congressional Serial Set and more. Find obituaries, birth & marriage notices; pension records etc. Read every article on every page of the newspaper. Keep checking back because new information is always being added.

Another great feature of this database is that it is available to use from home by STDL library cardholders!  Just enter in your library card number at the prompt when trying to access this database from home.

Just go to our main home page at www.schaumburglibrary.com and then click on the link on top that says “Local History and Genealogy”.  Once in here then look on the right side of the page for “Research Databases” and you will easily see it listed here.  Click on the link for it and enter in your STDL library card number and you can be on your way to researching in this newly added data base.

Give it a try and see who can discover!
