The Internet Polish Genealogical Source (iPGS); Another Online Resource For Polish Researchers

Hi Everyone!

For any of you doing Polish research, I would like to make you aware of some additional online Polish resources.  One of our very own participants is the driving force behind creating this great Polish resource website as well as identifying the wonderful resources contained within the site.

Our very own Stan S. is the researcher behind creating this wonderful site you can find at:

The internet Polish Genealogical Source (iPGS); Stasiu’s Sources

At the above site you will find resources for those researching Polish ancestry that you may not be aware of that can help your Polish research.  Additionally, a good amount of the online material comes from Iwona Dakiniewicz, the Polish correspondent for this wonderful site.

Some of the material you can find at this site includes:

  • Dachau German Concentration Camp Records
  • Iwona’s Research, including information on about 52,000 names and about 2,800 towns
  • Roman Catholic Church in Belarus
  • GenealogyInTime Magazine
  • Genealogy guide to About 130+ Google Search Engines
  • Information from and about Iwona Dakiniewicz
  • 1907 Atlas (Kingdom of Poland Maps)
  • Herbarz Polski (Surname Heraldic Descriptions)
  • Iwona Articles (Polish Genealogical Information)
  • Parish Histories (Histories of US Parishes)

You will also find a nice table of countries, often associated with Polish research, that contain links within each country to archives, cemetery records, family websites, heraldry, newspapers, researchers, surnames and a whole lot more.

Stan has been doing Polish research for a good amount of time.  These resources have worked for him.  He would like them to work for you.

Take a little bit of time to view the site and the variety of resources that are accessible through the site.  If you have hit a “Polish Brick Wall”, then maybe there is a great resource awaiting your investigation within the site that can make that wall come tumbling down!

I want to thank Stan S. and James K., participants at our program, for making me aware of this wonderful resource for Polish researchers.

Iwona Dakiniewicz is a wonderful researcher in Poland and all of us here of Polish ancestry researching our roots in Poland should be thankful that Iwona is such a wonderful resource in Poland.  Her knowledge and documentation of Polish resources can certainly make our own research that much easier.

Take a look at all of the material from within the above resource link to the iPGS.
