DuPage County Genealogical Society (DCGS) Is Offering 3 Training Classes Geared To “Intermediate” Genealogy Researchers On March 3, March 17, And March 31, 2012 At Wheaton Public Library

Hi Everyone!

This is somewhat short notice as one of the events I will mention occurs on this Saturday, March 3, 2012.  I just became aware of this wonderful learning opportunity that is being offered by the DuPage County Genealogical Society.

The society is offering a 3 training sessions geared to those that might consider themselves “intermediate” skilled genealogy researchers.   The programs will take place at the Wheaton Public Library on Saturday March 3rd, March 17th and March 31st between 1 to 3 PM.

You can participate in any one, two or all three programs.  You do not have to take all of them if you choose to participate.  Choose whatever fits your interests.  It is advised that you pre-register, but you do not have to.  You can pay at the door.  Each program is $10.

The programs that will be held, one on each of the above Saturday dates, are:

  • March 3, 2012 (1 – 3 PM) – “File Organization”
  • March 17, 2012 (1 – 3PM) – “Tips For Successful Searching Using Ancestry”
  • March 31, 2012 (1 – 3PM) – “What Is A Reasonably Exhaustive Search?”

Here is a direct link to the DCGS website where you can find all of the details in expanded form and description about this upcoming offering to further develop your genealogical research skills:

DuPage County Genealogical Society Intermediate Genealogy Classes on March 3, March 17, and March 31

All of the details you need to know to make a decision about attending are at the above direct link to the DCGS website part about “Classes”.

The “Ancestry” program appears to be a “hands-on” computer experience with the computers at the Wheaton Public Library.  You can even bring your own laptop and access online material through the library’s WiFi.

Consider attending any or all of these programs.

Keeping yourself on top of the learning curve is always a good goal.   Our genealogy researching skills should be as current as possible.
