I just became aware of this soon to occur Midwestern genealogy conference that will occur on August 6th and 7th in Indianapolis, IN with a pre-conference set of programs on August 5th.
I saw a full page ad for this conference in the April-June 2010 edition of the NGS Magazine.
The conference is being hosted by the Indiana Historical Society.
Four top-notch speakers are being advertised as speakers at the conference. They are:
- John Phillip Colletta, Ph.D
- George G. Morgan
- David E. Rencher
- Loretto “Lou” Szucs
Visit the web site directly at:
You will find informational material at this location for:
- Pre-Conference Events
- Conference Schedule
- Conference Registration
- Library Education Units
- Maps and Directions
There are a variety of fees to attend based on full participation at the event, being a member of the society, participating in only one day etc. The full fee to attend both days of the conference while not being a member of the Indian Historical Society is $150. Being a member reduces the fee to $125. Attending only on Friday or Saturday is $90 for non-members and $75 for members. If you are a student under the age of 23 the fee would be $75 for the entire conference.
There is even a pre-conference set of programs scheduled for August 5, 2010 from 3 PM to 8PM.
All of the information for the entire conference can easily be accessed from the link above.
I am glad I discovered the advertisement for this program in the NGS Magazine with some lead time in order to make you aware of this conference.
Consider attending if you are ambitious and it fits your schedule and the fee is not too much! The list of speakers is well worth attending!
