Because the LDS and FamilySearch are such an integral part of the lives of genealogists, isn’t it nice to know about all of the activities that are going on at that organization that will positively affect genealogy researchers in the future?
And as they say, “Why not hear it directly from the horse’s mouth!”
Dick Eastman has posted on his blog that he had a one-on-one interview with David Rencher, the Chief Genealogical Officer of FamilySearch. This interview with David is available as a podcast from Dick Eastman’s blog. Just click on the link below and you will be able to hear first hand from the head of the organization about all of the activities that are currently taking place at FamilySearch.org.
You can listen to the podcast at Dick Eastman’s site. Just put your cursor in the wide gray rectangular box in the blog post where the name “David Rencher” is visible. You will see that your cursor will activate the media player to play the podcast. Don’t click on the part of the post that says “Listen Now”. That is not the media player for the podcast, rather that is a feature that allows you to hear the post read to you. That is also a nice feature if you have not tried it!!
At the above site you will also see a small list of topics that are discussed on the podcast. You can then choose to listen to all of the podcast or the parts that interest you the most.
Go to the source and hear about the future for FamilySearch. What they will be doing will certainly affect all of our future research.
Enjoy the podcast.
