Hi Everyone!
If you saw my earlier post today I indicated that the DuPage County Genealogical Society Annual Conference is taking place tomorrow on Saturday, February 25, 2012 in St. Charles, IL at the Hilton Garden Inn.
I had indicated that I was going to try to attend as a “walk-in”.
“Cathy” left a comment to that post that indicated she had visited the DCGS web site and the site was “warning” that the conference is all full-up and that “walk-ins” are being discouraged from attending.
Visit the DCGS web site and take a look at the news you will find on their site under the part of the site for “Conferences” at:
Yikes!
That is a surprise to me or to anyone that was going to walk-in and attend at the last-minute.
That is obviously great news for DCGS that the conference is turning out to be at capacity and bad news for people like myself and Cathy that were going to attend as walk-ins.
I may still try to see if I can get in. If I am turned away then so be it. I will just head back home. I am not that far away.
I want to thank Cathy for leaving the comment on the post. That allowed me to write this post and let readers know they may want to think twice about going to the conference as an unregistered “walk-in”.
