DVD Recordings Of Our Genealogy Programs From February 2012 And April 2012 Have Been Added To Our Library’s Audio Visual Collection; You Can Check These Out For Home Viewing

Hi Everyone!

For those that have been recently attending our monthly genealogy programs since February 2012, you may have noticed that I have been in the back of the room with our library’s camcorder recording the programs of our speakers.  I have started doing this, when permission is given to me by our speaker, so that the program can be recorded, transferred to a DVD and then made available to check out from our library as a DVD for viewing at home.

So if you were unable to attend one of our genealogy speaker programs from February 2012 going forward, there is a good chance that the program will have been recorded for you to view at home and catch up on the material presented by the speaker.  Or perhaps you did attend the program but may have missed a critical point emphasized by the speaker.  Now you have the chance to view an “encore” performance of the program in the comfort of your home.  You can “rewind” and “replay” key points made by the speaker over and over.

The program presented by Craig Pfannkuche on February 14, 2012 titled “Using Railroad Records in Your Family History Research” is now available as a DVD to check out from our Audio Visual (AV) circulating collection.  The call number of this DVD is:

DVD 929.1072 PFA

The program presented by Paul Milner on April 10, 2012 titled “Making Sense of the English Census” is now available as a DVD to check out from our Audio Visual (AV) circulating collection.  The call number of this DVD is:

DVD 929.3 MIL

I plan on making future recordings as long as I have the permission of the speaker to do so for a particular program.

I currently have the most recent speaker program that was held on May 8, 2012 from Kathryn Barrett titled “Military Records” in the process of being added to our AV circulating collection.  I will let our readers know when this DVD is available in our library to check out.

I hope this availability of these recorded programs for checkout will further assist you in advancing your genealogy research skills by affording you the opportunity to see programs that you may have missed or that you simply want to see again.

Enjoy these new DVDs.
