2021 Programs

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still a lot of uncertainty with scheduling of any in-house library programs.  The Genealogy Programs that follow are being planned as if we may still be under COVID-19 restrictions.  Right now, I am showing them all as Zoom Online Programs.  That could change down the road should we be able to return to in-house programs.

Additionally, starting in June 2020 I have added some “informal” small-size (20 participant limit) online Zoom Genealogy “Chit-Chat” Programs to the schedule.  Those programs are continuing into 2021.  We will meet online for these programs from 2 to 3:30 pm (Central Time)  (yes, you are correctly seeing that these are afternoon sessions) rather than for our evening speaker programs.  These are offered as a way for researchers to connect with me and others to have an informal genealogy discussion as well as for me to hear your research questions and offer some guidance.  You must register with our library for the program in order to receive the Zoom connect information.  All are welcome to participate.  You do not need a library card issued to you from our library in order to participate.

For the “Genealogy Chit Chat” Programs, I do bring a topic to the program just in case we may find ourselves with little to talk about!  (I don’t know that such a possibility exists among genealogy researchers.  Nonetheless, I bring a topic to the program to talk about  just in case.)

Overall, our speaker programs occur on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month starting at 7 pm (Central Time).  The “Genealogy Chit Chat” programs occur on the 4th Tuesday afternoon of the month starting at 2 pm (Central Time).

It is possible that some of the dates may need to change if we have some Zoom online scheduling issues with other parts of the library.

All of the programs that follow are open to the public.  You do not need to have a library card issued to you by our library to participate.  You are welcome to join us from anywhere in the United States, or even the world, as we have seen so many of you do so through the last 6 months of 2020.

For all programs that follow, you will need to register your intent to participate with our library.  That is done through our online Calendar of Events for the date of the program.  An email address is required as part of registration in order for us to send you the Zoom connect link for the program 1 hour in advance of the start of the program.  It is a simple process.  When I have the calendar date link to register, I post it in the program notice itself down below.  We only know that link a couple of months in advance.  You will therefore see many programs listed with the words “To Be Determined”
