The poll had asked the question “Have You Ever Watched An Episode Of The American Genealogy TV Show “Who Do You Think You Are?”.
That poll question was sort of a trick one on my part. But I thought I still had to ask it. Genealogists I deal with all certainly seem to indicate to me that they watch the show and look forward to new episodes. It almost sounded like a slam-dunk. Who in genealogy does not watch the show? Is that even possible that there are a substantial number of genealogists that have never watched an episode of this popular show? That is why I asked!
The results of the poll showed the following from the 60 total respondents that took the brief time to provide their “Yes” or “No” response to the question. The numbers overwhelmingly show that 57 responses noted they had definitely seen at least one episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?” (95%) while 3 responses indicated they have not watched an episode of the show (5%).
The show is almost coming to the end of its 8 episode season on The Learning Channel. It was booted off NBC in May 2012 and found its way to The Learning Channel during the summer of 2013. I also wanted to ask the poll during the time the “new” episodes were running on TLC. The overwhelming “yes” results is sort of what I anticipated, but I still thought there would be even more than just 3 responses indicating they had not watched the show. Oh well, remember these are not scientific polls!
I am always looking for a larger response than even that which I just saw! So come on down —— affix your opinion as a “Yes” or “No” when so asked to the varied polls on different topics in the world of genealogy and family history research. Your answers count.
I plan on putting up a new poll rapidly. Come back for that one to see the new question being asked.
A big thank you to all of those that took the time to respond to this just recently closed poll. Take a look at the results of that poll to satisfy your own curiosity.
Don’t forget to visit my Poll Archives as part of this blog. Look for the link at the top of the homepage of the blog where it simply says “Poll Archives”. In here you will find the statistical results of the 12 previously active polls in addition to the poll that is generally “active”. If you were not aware of this Archive, you may want to visit to see what all the previous polls were about.
