Hi Everyone!
While perusing through some online material at Dick Eastman’s blog website, I came across this very timely notice.
From March 15, 2017 through March 22, 2017, in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, the databases commonly referred to as American Ancestors at AmericanAncestors.org will be allowing FREE access to the Irish records in their database collections. These databases are offered through the New England Historic Genealogy Society (NEHGS).
Access will require registration with NEHGS as a free guest user.
Check out all of the details in the link above to Dick Eastman’s article.
Our library subscribes and provides access to all of the American Ancestors databases all of the time. You need to be present in our library in order to access these databases. License agreements with NEHGS does not allow us to provide access to the databases to our library card holders at home.
So, take advantage of the free access to the Irish databases from home for this short window of free access.
Also take advantage of the American Ancestors databases offered by our library for in-house use. Use the computers located behind the “Ask Us” desk on the 2nd floor of our library. Ask our librarians at that desk for any help to access our American Ancestors database when you are in our library.
