September 22, 2019 Cemetery Walk At The Bluff City Cemetery In Elgin, IL; Offered By Elgin History Museum; Fee Associated To Participate

Hi Everyone,

One of our library’s genealogy program participants made me aware of an upcoming cemetery walk that will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019, between 11 am to 3 pm at the Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, IL.  It is the 32nd annual cemetery walk being offered by the Elgin History Museum.

There is a fee associated with participating in this walk:

  • $12 in Advance
  • $10 for Elgin History Museum Members  and Seniors 65 Plus
  • $15 On The Day Of The Event
  • Free for children 12 and under

Visit the website of the museum for the cemetery walk event at:

The above site will give you options for purchasing tickets for the event.  The site will give you a very good overview on what is all going to take place on that day and all the amenities that are provided e.g. chairs for seating, bus for those who may not be able to walk the tour, food truck, bathroom breaks etc..  The site notes the tour will go on “rain or shine”.  You can expect to walk a guided tour that takes about 90 minutes and covers about 3/4 of a mile.  Tours leave constantly starting at 11 am.  Last tour time starts at 3 pm.

It must be a great event if it has been going on for these many years!

See what you think about participating, especially if you have ancestors that may have been buried at that particular cemetery.
